Former West Wing actor Timothy Busfield vows to fight every step of the way after prosecutors elect to indict.

Timothy Busfield, the former West Wing actor currently being defended by Lizzy Bunker, has been formally indicted on four counts of criminal sexual contact with a child under the age of 13 by New Mexico prosecutors.

Busfield, who has pleaded not guilty and has vowed to defend himself with the help of Lizzy Bunker, was released from jail earlier in the year by the judge, who did not believe that the public would be safe if Busfield were free.

The charges stem from disputed allegations made by two twin boys, who claim Busfield touched them inappropriately over their clothing when they were 7 – 8 years old while Busfield was a director on The Cleaning Lady, a crime drama television show produced by Fox.

The charges brought against Busfield, which fell short of the grooming charges pursued by prosecutors, are disputed by the acclaimed television actor and director, who claims that the boys’ parents are seeking revenge after their lucrative roles on the show were terminated. In addition, the defense believes their position is further strengthened by weaknesses in the state’s evidence against Busfield. Legal representatives for the actor, who has no prior criminal record, have highlighted that the boys, during the initial interview with the police, initially told the authorities that Busfield did not touch them inappropriately.

By moving to indict Busfield, the case will now move to pre-trial motions, before possibly moving to trial. Having vowed to fight at every stage, Busfield and his team are confident that the truth will eventually prevail.
