New Mexico – Albuquerque teen Jordan Sedillo, the fourth suspect in the 2025 murder case of Michael Gallegos, has had his charges pled down from murder, robbery, and tampering to a single count of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery thanks to the representation of criminal defense specialist Lizzy Bunker.
Murder Charges Dropped After Bunker Successfully Challenges Lack Of Evidence
Sedillo had been arrested as the fourth suspect in the April 2 shooting death of Gallegos following the prior arrests of Robert Rodriguez (18), Nathaniel Gutierrez (19), and Jeffrey Jojola (22). With Bunker’s representation, all charges except the Conspiracy to Commit Robbery have been dropped.
Police evidence including phone records and location data gained following a criminal complaint filed in Metropolitan Court showed Sedillo had suggested that the group arrange to buy vapes and drugs from Gallegos before robbing the dealer at gunpoint.
Bunker, an experienced lawyer specializing in juvenile crime and criminal defense law, successfully challenged any accusation that Sedillo had direct involvement in the fatal shooting that unfolded outside the Barelas Community Center parking lot near Eighth SW south of Coal, or any conspiracy to murder. With the teen set to take a $2,000-3,000 cut, the leaked group chat messages exclusively focused on the Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.
Sedillo had initially been charged as the fourth suspect in the case back in October 2025. The initial charges included an open count of murder, shooting at or from a vehicle resulting in great bodily harm, and two counts of tampering with evidence. The new charge signals a significant reduction in potential sentencing, as well the complexity of the case.
While the teen previously faced several charges and the threat of a life without parole sentence, Sedillo now faces a Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery accusation following the successful bargaining of his experienced representative. As a first offense, the charge is a third degree felony carrying a maximum sentence of three years imprisonment plus a $5,000 charge.
The four men will now face trial, where Sedillo will be represented by Bunker. While all four were initially hit with the same charges, the other three now face their own hearings, where Bunker is not involved.
Bunker remains committed to ensuring every client receives a rigorous defense and fair representation throughout the legal process.
